This is a 12-week course program that covers all aspects of medical office assistant administration.   1. Elaboration on real-life situations and scenarios occurring in a wide variety of health care settings and occupations, based on first hand experience of the instructors.

  2. Discussions of new knowledge acquired from various seminars attended by the instructors.

  3. Discussions of information obtained during conferences. For example, many of the inside details and information regarding the doctor’s office, and the employer’s expectations for their employees is received during these conferences throughout dinner conversations with various doctors and health professionals. This opportunity to speak one-on-one with these health professionals allows our instructors to share details with our students to give them a realistic description for what is required of them, and what their employers are looking for in hiring a new receptionist.

 

As part of our Medical Office Assistant Program, you will complete your practicum Working in a Professional Medical Environment. Many of our graduates get job placement right after they graduate.

 

Evaluation Methods

 

Overall mark based on successful result on weekly quizzes and final exam (which occurs on the last day of classes). Required practicum hours completed with a satisfactory result. Participation and attendance in class.

 

Diploma

 

Students who have completed all specified requirements, as well as fulfilling the practicum portion of the program will receive a diploma from Medical Reception College. Upon receiving the diploma, students are able to pursue a career in the medical services profession with confidence.

 

Duration

 

The program duration spans 12 weeks and is offered on a full-time basis, classes run full-time Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

 

 

Admission Standards 

 

Students must meet the following criteria. 

1. The student has graduated from Grade 12. 

Plus, all the following: 

2. Successful result on a typing test administered by school administration 15 WPM

 

Mature Admission:        

 

Students must meet the following criteria. 

1. The student has matured student status (is 19 or older before the start of classes. 

Plus, all the following: 

2. Successful result on a typing test administered by school administration 15 WPM 

3. Successful result on an aptitude test administered by the school (50%) 

If the School Administrator and the prospective student agree on a  financial arrangement, they sign the contract. All students should obtain a copy of the signed contract, along with a copy of all student policies to the student. (Program admission requirements may not be waived by the Institution).

Practicum Placement

 We arrange a schedule for our students to do their practicum at various medical-related offices in order to gain valuable work experience, this helps students build the credentials they need to pursue employment opportunities in a field that is constantly growing and full of job opportunities.

Admission criteria

Students must meet the following criteria:

  2. It’s required to bring your high school transcripts if you have any to your registration appointment.

  3. If you have not completed High School in Canada you will be required to do an English multiple-choice entrance exam. A minimum score of 50% or more is required to take the program.
